Text with a little light soiling, but overall, still good; bound in blue cloth with an unprice-clipped dust wrapper, which has three closed tears and loss at head and tail of spine; rear of wrapper soiled and with childish scribble, picture on front not affected. Despite these defects and the fact that the binding is a little loose, this is still an attractive copy of a good 1940s children’s book, containing all Carrolls’ best-loved verse.
