What Rachel Heslop has been reading recently.

MASON (ZACHARY) The Lost Books of the Odyssey (£12.99)

Fragmentary in its narrative, Odysseus' multiple re-tellings of his journey home is built around 44 vignettes, some no longer than a page. This short novel is a wonderful, beautifully written debut on the art and construction of ever-changing myths and legends.

RACHMAN (TOM) The Imperfectionists (£16.99)

The Imperfectionists centres around the lives of a group of journalists (or so they would like to think), working for a struggling daily newspaper in Rome. The struggles they face are often farcical in their situation, but always with a tinge of reality attached. So funny at times that the people on the Central think I am going crazy .

SHAKESPEARE (NICHOLAS) Inheritance (£12.99)

Poignant, occasionally sad, but often with bursts of humour, this is a perfect book for the summer holidays. Whilst reading it, the book gave me plenty of ideas and thoughts of what to do if I suddenly inherited £17 million from a complete stranger (apart from buying even more books...).
