The Shakespeare Head Press was founded by A. H. Bullen, who had the idea of printing the complete works of Shakespeare at Stratford-on-Avon as the result of a dream in which he was presented with a set of Shakespeare's works while visiting the town. This is the first edition of Shakespeare to have been published in Stratford and the first major publication of the Press.
