About the book: Discover the large oil works from Hirst's three sea-themed collections: ‘Coast Paintings’, ‘Sea Paintings’ and ‘Seascapes’. This beautiful hardcover volume is a stunning look at Hirst's relationship with the sea, from his interactions with the 1960s seascapes of Robert Motherwell to his own personal interactions with the British coast, from Filey to Skegness. This catalogue contains full-colour reproductions of the individual works, and shows Hirst's fascination with the sea as a symbol of the incomprehensible.
