In 2016, Heywood Hill celebrated its 80th anniversary. In honour of the occasion, distinguished authors were asked to share the single book - published in English in the last 80 years - that has meant the most to them and to provide a three-word justification for their choice.
The fantastic Gerald Seymour chose 'The Old Man and the Sea' by Ernest Hemingway:
