Nell Zinc is a fifty year old living in Berlin who was discovered by Jonathan Franzen: they share a passion for bird watching. 

Her first book is The Wallcreeper and, although short, is a terrific read. It has been issued in a boxed set with her second book, Mislaid, which is a disappointing follow up.

On himself: David Astor's working life has involved small time venture capital, politics and the Arts. If he had spent less time reading books he might have been more successful.
