ABOUT HEYWOOD HILL'S 90th ANNIVERSARY SUSBCRIPTION:
To celebrate Heywood Hill’s 90th Anniversary in style, we have designed a brand-new eponymous subscription. Over the course of our anniversary year, you or your lucky recipient will receive twelve of the best novels by British authors published since 1936, the year we opened on Curzon Street. This a true one-off, limited edition subscription.
Heywood Hill has been selling old and new books for ninety years, choosing and recommending the right books for our customers – but also hidden gems of literary merit. In this subscription, you or your lucky recipient will receive twelve beautifully wrapped paperback novels, arriving at your door every other month in pairs.
To start off the anniversary year, the first book choice will be from 1936, the year of our opening. The twelfth will be published in 2026. The ten novels in between will be chosen from each decade we have been bookselling on Curzon Street. Each title will be a surprise.
Every parcel of two books will be gift-wrapped in our signature brown paper and blue ribbon and contain a bespoke anniversary bookplate designed by Cressida Bell, just for our ninetieth. Even more special will be our fiction and non-fiction lists of shop favourites from each decade, included with its chosen book.
You or your lucky recipient will receive a welcome pack from us to introduce the subscription, explaining what is involved in A Year in Books. This pack includes an elegant gift card and letter detailing the subscription. We can also include a hand-written personal message on one of our illustrated postcards. Do pop a message for your recipient in the notes at checkout to include this in the welcome pack.
