About Heywood Hill’s Perennial:

Explore the twentieth century through fiction with our new Perennial subscription. Over the course of the year our team of booksellers will choose twelve modern classics which reflect both the quality and variety of twentieth-century writing.

Heywood Hill has been selling old and new books for ninety years, choosing and recommending the right books for our customers – but also hidden gems of literary merit.

In this subscription, you or your lucky recipient will receive twelve beautifully wrapped paperback books, arriving at your door every other month in pairs. All of the novels chosen will be from the twentieth century. Each title will be a surprise.

Every parcel of two books will be gift-wrapped in our signature brown paper and blue ribbon and contain a bespoke bookmark designed by Cressida Bell.

You or your lucky recipient will receive a welcome pack from us to introduce the subscription, explaining what is involved in A Year in Books. This pack includes an elegant gift card and letter detailing the subscription. We can also include a hand-written personal message on one of our illustrated postcards. Do pop a message for your recipient in the notes at checkout to include this in the welcome pack.

• Please note that postage is not included in the cost of the subscription and it will be added at checkout. We send all of our subscription parcels every other month to minimise postage costs for our customers.
• If your recipient lives in Canada or Switzerland please get in touch with our team at enquiries@heywoodhill.com for a specific postage cost.
• The welcome pack is posted second-class by the Royal Mail, which usually takes 2-3 working days to arrive in the UK and 3-5 working days to the US. The pack is not sent tracked. Please let us know in the notes if you need the welcome pack to arrive by a certain date.
• For any questions, do check out our FAQs on the subscriptions page or get in touch with us at enquiries@heywoodhill.com.
